Washing and care of fine garments Mela Wedding

I Mela Wedding garments are made of fine mohair and cashmere. Their care and washing requires following some easy rules that will ensure their durability and beauty.

Machine Washing

Wash your fine Mela Wedding garments inside out with the dedicated wool or delicates program, in cold water (no more than 30°, however) with a small amount of detergent and a dash of white vinegar. Do not use fabric softener. Use the spin cycle at 400/600 rpm.

Hand washing

Use a mild detergent and soak the head in warm water. Press lightly with your fingertips, without rubbing excessively. Rinse the garment gently but thoroughly. With gentle hand pressure, remove excess water; do not twist the wet garment.

Drying and ironing

Let the garment dry arranged horizontally on a terry towel so it will not lose its shape or stretch. Store it away from direct sunlight so that it does not lose its color. Iron the garment with a steam iron at not very high temperatures.

Pilling

Pilling are the fiber balls that form on the surface of the garment from rubbing during use. After a few washes, this surface hairiness reduces until it disappears. The pilling remover is great for removing these short fibers and giving your garment a new look.

Moths

To avoid moths during warm seasons, mothproof sheets or sachets stored between garments in the closet can be used, If you have to store the garment for a long time without using it, it is preferable to put it in a plastic bag with a mothproof sachet or lavender bags. Garments that are already moth-eaten should be removed from the closet or it is preferable to put them in the freezer for 20 days. The closet should be steam cleaned or a mixture of water, vinegar and baking soda and wiped into the surfaces with a cloth.
