Mela Wedding garments are made from fine mohair and cashmere. To care for and wash them, follow a few simple rules to ensure their longevity and beauty.
Machine wash
Wash your precious Mela Wedding garments inside out on the wool or delicate cycle in cold water (no hotter than 30°C) with a small amount of detergent and a drop of white vinegar. Do not use fabric softener. Spin at 400/600 rpm.
Hand wash
Use a mild detergent and soak the garment in warm water. Press lightly with your fingertips, without rubbing excessively. Rinse the garment gently but thoroughly. Gently squeeze out excess water with your hands; do not wring the wet garment.
Drying and ironing
Dry the garment flat on a terry towel to keep it in shape and prevent it from stretching. Store it away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading. Steam iron the garment on a low heat setting.
Pilling
Pilling is the small balls of fibers that form on the surface of a garment due to friction during use. After a few washes, this surface hair diminishes and eventually disappears. A lint remover is excellent for removing these short fibers and restoring your garment's appearance.
The moths
To prevent moths during warmer seasons, you can use moth-repellent sheets or sachets placed between items in the closet. If you need to store an item for a long time without using it, it's best to place it in a plastic bag with a moth-repellent sachet or lavender sachets. Moth-infested items should be removed from the closet or placed in the freezer for 20 days. The closet should be steam cleaned or cleaned with a mixture of water, vinegar, and baking soda, and the surfaces should be scrubbed with a cloth.
